This past weekend, Orlando Pirates etched their names into the record books by lifting the MTN8 title for the fourth consecutive season – a first in the history of the competition, which dates back to 1972.
Not only did the Buccaneers achieve this unprecedented feat, but their emphatic 3–0 victory over Stellenbosch FC also took their overall MTN8 tally to 14 titles, leaving them just one short of equalling the record held by Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
