Patrick Maswanganyi is a product of the Stars of Africa Football Academy and spent his early years as a professional footballer in Portugal, where he turned out for UD Oliveirense and Académica OAF.
Having returned home ahead of the 2022/23 season, turning out for SuperSport United, “Tito” was quickly on Orlando Pirates’ radar, subsequently joining the Club in June 2023.
A stellar debut season with the Soweto Giants earned him three accolades in the 2023/24 PSL Awards, including some recognition from his peers as he walked off with the coveted Players’ Player of the Season award.
Maswanganyi grew up idolising ex-Bucs midfielder Teko Modise, and lists Norwegian star Martin Odegaard among his favourite current players.
