A sad day, Wednesday 23 April 2025, as Orlando Pirates announces the sad passing of Mme Kaybee Setlogelo, a staunch member of its Women’s League – loyal and committed to the end.
Her childhood home, ga-Masetlogelo, is the de facto Club House of Orlando Pirates Football Club. It was at her childhood home where the players’ new jerseys had numbers sewed on and the jerseys were washed after matches. A home so powerful, the desirability of those who got involved with Orlando Pirates was determined there. It was at Sis Kaybee’s childhood home that Scara Sono, Kaizer Motaung, Bobby Makwetla, Irvin Khoza, Jomo Sono and many of Orlando Pirates elites received their blessings for the privilege to be involved with the club.
“She attended last MTN8 Final and Derby. She insisted she would not miss these important events even with her failing health. She believed her presence helped strengthen the team. A belief held by the Spiritual Leaders of the Orlando Pirates Football Club. I miss her already. May her soul repose peacefully.”, said Dr Khoza, on hearing about the sad passing of Mme Kaybee Setlogelo this morning.
So long Sis Kaybee.
