After proving crucial in Malian giants Djoliba’s solid showing in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, Abdoulaye Mariko formed part of the Buccaneers’ pre-season preparations ahead of the subsequent campaign and was duly drafted into the squad.

The Bamako-born attacking midfielder was a key cog in the West African side’s march into the group stages of the continent’s premier club competition. He arrives at the Soweto Giants eager to make the most of his new chapter, following a big move in what is still a young career.
