Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced his final 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda, with Orlando Pirates well-represented with no fewer than eight players.

Flying the Buccaneers’ flag on the international stage will be:

  • Sipho Chaine
  • Mbekezeli Mbokazi
  • Nkosinathi Sibisi
  • Thalente Mbatha
  • Oswin Appollis
  • Sipho Mbule
  • Tshepang Moreni
  • Relebohile Mofokeng

Just missing out on the final cut were Kamogelo Sebelebele, Patrick Masangwanyi, and Evidence Makgopa, who were part of the preliminary squad but will not feature in the upcoming fixtures.

South Africa’s qualification campaign begins with a high-stakes showdown against Zimbabwe on Friday, 10 October 2025, at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Four days later, Bafana Bafana will travel north to take on Rwanda on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, as they look to lay down an early marker on the road to the 2026 World Cup.
